Reviewing more photographs from the recent day out in Yosemite’s high country along the still open Tioga Pass/Hwy 120 is this shot of the hills surrounding and reflected on frozen Tenaya Lake. While I have included the original photograph below, I didn’t like the color version all that much. The cloudless blue skies don’t add much to the photo so I performed conversion to B&W using Silver EFex Pro.
While not visible in these small versions of photos, the expanse of this frozen lake is much more evident when you see the minuscule size of the cars on the far side of the lake next to the hills. Click on the color picture (as the cars are easier to make out) to view the larger version.
This was a handheld shot as I was much more interested in skating than toting my tripod on the ice.
For those of you still thinking of visiting Yosemite this weekend and exploring the usually closed winter roads, there is still time. The weather forecast is part cloudy skies this weekend (January 14-16, 2012) AND it’s FREE entrance for those 3 days. So the $20 you save can be used to offset the cost gas.
