Rays of sunlight filtering through clouds during one of my trips to the Eastern Sierra last year (2011) for the changing of the aspens. After a day in the Bishop Creek & Lake Sabrina areas for an early look at the aspens, a wonderful meal at Schat’s Bakkery and an inspiring visit’s to Mountain Light Gallery in Bishop, I was again on the road (Hwy 395) driving towards Tioga Pass and Yosemite to get home.
The highway out of Bishop climbs rapidly out of the Owens Valley before leveling out at Wheeler Crest. As I was approaching the crest, the sun was darting in and out of the clouds above, you guessed it, Wheeler Ridge. It was enough of a sight that I pulled onto the shoulder of the highway, pulled the camera from my bag, and snapped a few photographs from the driver’s seat.
Post processing was mainly through Nik Silver EFex before final tweaks in Adobe Lightroom.
