So maybe it is time to stock up on those Twinkies. The deadline has passed for the striking workers to get back on the job. The company has threatened to file a motion to liquidate the company Friday (10/16) morning if the deadline passed, which it now has.

It seems as though the workers have resigned to the impending liquidation and are now hoping a buyer comes forth to purchase the assets and restart operations. After two recent bankruptcy filings, I am not so sure. The Hostess brand is certainly worth some money in liquidation, but the union demands on wage and benefits will be hard for any buyer to agree to.
