Maybe the “rule of thirds” does not always work.  The bottom 1/5 of this photograph was cropped as there was far too much black on the third.  What should have been the focal area was the play of colors in the sky — sunset clouds against the incoming blue night sky.

As many of us in the States are out and about doing the annual post-Thanksgiving shopping today, I am spending the morning in the garden enjoying the sun even though it is late November.  I am sure a couple cups of coffee are on the horizon, some leftover turkey and ham for lunch, and then well, who knows.  All I know is I am not facing the crazy crowds trying to save money by spending a lot.
