Sleeping Bee, Gaillardia Flower

Ione, CA

Is this what happens when a bee has a good time and stays out too late?  This little guy was sleeping soundly on his back while occasionally moving his legs.  An hour later he was upright again and then was gone soon after.

Close-up photos like these really expose the auto focusing abilities deficiencies of kit lenses versus macro lenses.  The auto focus had a very difficult time if the lens was within 12 inches of the bee and flower.
