I was heading towards a familiar location in the foothills for a few compositions sunset reflections off season ponds when I spied these strange uniform mounds in the grass. Were these tailing mounds from long ago mining activities? Probably not since these mounds were rather small. In the meantime, with the sun still about half an hour away from sunset, this would be a great time to work with the available shadows and formulate some sort of monochrome image.
