In my mind I was lamenting the awful midday sun combined with the monochromatic brown and tan that dominated a visit to Folsom Lake on New Year’s Day. Thousands of people (according to news reports) where here that day, all wanting to see the remains of old building foundations submerged in 1955. What caught my eye, while throwing rocks into the mud and hearing the amusing “thhwp” sound as it disappears, was this family on the other side in brightly colored clothing.
