Even the dry winter has to give way to some wildflowers in the foothills this Spring. While not a spectacular show of blooms as in wet winter years, there is enough variety on the Buttermilk Trail.
Most of us see the blankets of flowers on a hillside and start to think of compositions to take the entire scene in. Yet, macro photogs look at the elements of a plant and/or flower. Though this photograph does not qualify as macro photography, the focus on the elements and isolation of the flower from the background using a shallow depth of field forces the eye to look at the “veins” in the petals rather than any other part of the photo.
